Le mie ceramiche Saggar, realizzate con cotture alternative e affumicate

For some years now, my artistic research has focused on alternative firing techniques — including pit firing, saggar and smoking. Primordial processes that imprint upon the satin surface of the clay the unique and carbonized mark of natural elements: feathers, horsehair, leaves, ropes, and seaweed, in a monochromatic symphony of lines and shadows.

The addition of oxides, carbonates, and sulfates extends the color range toward orange, blue, and green tones generated directly through combustion, without the use of traditional glazes. The result is highly suggestive objects — vases, moonjar, bottles — with a velvety, wax-finished look, completely unrepeatable due to the very nature of the creative process.

The vases, internally glazed to hold liquids, are sometimes fired multiple times at decreasing temperatures to superimpose layers of effects and textures, making each work a unique and irreproducible piece.
