Functional ceramics
My functional pottery is wheel-thrown stoneware. The part that I love the most about my work is the architectural side of it. The shape - whether simple or complex, depending on the whim of the day - emerges from a shapeless mass and finds its purpose. It becomes a vase, a bottle, or a pitcher—an object destined to inhabit a home and interact with people on a daily basis.
Custom formulation and sustainability
Over the past few years, I have studied and developed my own glazes, formulated from minerals, clays native to my local area, and wood ash. This living, ever-changing ingredient—sourced from my own fireplace—reflects another great passion of mine: recycling and reclaiming raw materials.
I am very aware of my business's environmental impact. That is why I power my kilns with solar energy, reclaim clay, and reuse packaging materials for shipments.
The aesthetics of Studio Pottery
My research combines form and function in a straightforward and essential style, inspired by Studio Pottery aesthetics. It is a milestone reached after nearly 25 years of self-training and experimentation—a journey that finally led me to find a voice in ceramics.
Food-safety and durability for everyday use
Studying materials chemistry allows me to control my glazes not only for their aesthetic appeal but also to ensure durability and food safety. I am proud of my glazes: unique, durable, and perfectly safe for food contact.
My oxidation mid-fire stoneware offers durability and ease of use comparable to industrial products (dishwasher and microwave safe). Their added value? A unique touch of craftmanship and originality for our tables.
